2023 Monitor Top Women in Equipment Finance: Alyssa Lawrence, CLFP, Quality Equipment Finance

Alyssa Lawrence, CLFP, Funding Administrator, Quality Equipment Finance — ELFA

Alyssa Lawrence joined Quality Equipment Finance in April 2014, taking the leap from the automotive sales industry into the equipment finance industry. She began her career at Quality as a sales assistant and was promoted to the admin team in 2016 after leadership caught on to her excellent attention to detail and ability to learn quickly. Lawrence believes her time in sales was essential in building the foundations for her current role as funding administrator. Now approaching her 10-year anniversary with Quality, Lawrence’s areas of expertise span sales, accounting, technology, documentation, taxation, funding and myriad other administrative tasks that support the entire company’s success. Team members often come to Lawrence with questions about various parts of Quality’s processes and praise her impressive ability to find answers quickly on the rare occasions when she doesn’t know them offhand.

With her love of learning and commitment to her career, it is no surprise that Lawrence claims “growth and knowledge” as her professional mission. She constantly strives to learn new technologies, develop procedural efficiencies and expand the whole company’s knowledge base by creating reference guides as well as offering her time as a resource and mentor. Lawrence believes that a person cannot truly succeed without being open to growing, and she makes every effort to support the success of her colleagues by helping them learn and grow as both individuals and as a team.

Lawrence’s vast comprehension of equipment finance coupled with her kind-hearted demeanor often make her the arbiter of policy questions where the ability to see all sides of a situation is a must. Having worn many proverbial hats throughout her time at Quality, Lawrence understands various points of view and feels that perspective is the most important trait she brings to the table. Her wide range of experience also helps her maintain a deep appreciation for the efforts and contributions of each of her coworkers — who she credits for a large part of her personal and professional success.

In June 2023, Lawrence earned her Certified Lease & Finance Professional designation. She is especially proud of this accomplishment and felt that becoming a CLFP was the logical next step in continuing her career education. Lawrence is also an active participant in the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association and attends the annual Lease and Finance Accountants conference to learn about updates to the accounting standards, changes to tax laws and current economic trends in the industry.

“I have worked with Alyssa for the past nine years and I’m consistently impressed with her performance and knowledge. She has the best combination of talent, skills and attitude,” Kendra Rothschild, CLFP, controller at Quality Equipment Finance, says. “Alyssa has embraced our industry and is always looking for ways to improve our processes and procedures. She leads the team by her positive example and sets the standard with her fantastic work ethic. Alyssa has engrossed herself in improving our technology and mastering new software so she can guide and train her teammates. Quality wouldn’t be the same without her contributions.”

“We are fortunate to have infinite knowledge right at our fingertips. My hopes are that I can encourage others to use those resources to excel in their career. Knowledge builds confidence and sharing builds understanding and perspective. Never stop learning.”
