NEFA Member Takes Openness to a New Level at Equipment Finance Summit

One session at NEFA’s upcoming National Equipment Finance Summit, in Scottsdale, Arizona, March 17-19, offers the ultimate in encouragement for brokers and lessors looking to build a solid balance sheet and a long-term business.

In his 20th consecutive year of profitability, Bruce Winter, owner of FSG Leasing, will present a step-by-step history of how he built his business and document it using his actual financial statements. “Listen,” says Winter, “it’s not always been an easy ride, but if someone else can learn from what I’ve done wrong as well as what I’ve done right, then I’m glad to let them see how it paid off along the way. I know some people might be surprised that I’d share such private information, but I want folks to know that what I share with them is real.”

NEFA Executive Director, Gerry Egan, says, “This is actually carrying a session Bruce presented last year at our Funding Symposium to a more detailed level. That session was so well received that many people who weren’t there wanted to know if he’d do it again. NEFA members have a long history of openness and helping each other and Bruce Winter is a perfect example of that.”

Not just theory or book ideas, the session, titled, Growing Your Balance Sheet, comes directly from Bruce Winter’s real life business experiences. “I’ll talk about the five best decisions I ever made, five things you should avoid and some mistakes I made that you don’t have to,” says Winter.

“This is rare opportunity for both brokers and lessors interested in building their own businesses as well as funding sources and service providers looking to understand their client’s businesses to see the operation of a small, private leasing company from the inside out,” says Egan.
