Webster Bank promoted Sam Hanna to executive vice president, Middle Market Banking. He will report to Chris Motl, executive vice president, head of Commercial Banking.
Hanna will continue to lead the bank’s regional middle market banking organization, as well as equipment finance and other established middle market verticals including healthcare, emerging growth and government lending.
“Sam’s promotion is reflective of his strong performance and leadership while overseeing one of Commercial Banking’s largest business units” said Motl. “He plays a key role in executing on the Commercial Banking vision while providing the highest level of customer service.”
Prior to his current role leading middle market banking, Hanna worked in Commercial Real Estate, managing the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts markets. He also managed the risk and recovery real estate team for two years. Before joining Webster in 2006, Hanna was a market manager in commercial real estate and senior client manager of national real estate at Fleet Bank.
Hanna serves as a trustee for the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council and the Providence Foundation.
Webster Bank has $29.9 billion in assets and provides business and consumer banking, mortgage, financial planning, trust, and investment services through 157 banking centers and 309 ATMs.
