The Wall Street Journal reported that bank’s aversion to risk in lending may make them a weak conduit for the Fed’s post pandemic recovery plans.
Regulations enacted after the Great Recession made banks safer, but curbed their ability to move funds into the economy, according to the Journal.
Now, the Fed has been stepping into the role formerly played by banks and delivering funds directly, according to the Journal.
