AerCap Delivers First of 8 New Airbus A321neo Aircraft to LATAM Airlines

Aircraft lessor AerCap delivered the first of eight new Airbus A321neo aircraft to LATAM Airlines Group. The remaining aircraft are scheduled to deliver through 2023 and 2024.

The newly delivered aircraft took off from Airbus’ delivery center in Hamburg, Germany, to Brazil using 49% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

“We are pleased to deliver to our longstanding customer, LATAM Airlines Group, their first A321neo aircraft,” Peter Anderson, chief commercial officer of AerCap, said. “This delivery is the first of a number of A321neos from AerCap and will help support LATAM’s fleet modernization and commitment to greater efficiency and sustainability. We wish the LATAM team every success and look forward to continuing to build on our strong partnership as these aircraft deliver.”

“Our fleet renewal and modernization strategy is fully aligned with our commitment to sustainability and brings us closer to the goal of becoming a carbon-neutral group by 2050,” Ramiro Alfonsín, CFO of LATAM Airlines Group, said. “We will continue to work on enhancing the current fleet with next-generation aircraft to further improve our connectivity while caring for the environment.”
