In the week ended March 16, 2018, Baker Hughes reported a U.S. rig count of 990, which was six more than the previous week’s reported count. Baker Hughes also noted that the count marked an increase 201 from the same period a year ago.

On the Canadian side, there were only 219 rigs counted, down 54 from the previous week and 57 from the same period in 2017.
