BankUnited announced the appointment of Steve Sexson to the position of senior vice president and SBA national sales manager, responsible for leading the bank’s robust SBA lending team in originating SBA-backed loans nationwide.

Sexson joins BankUnited from Wells Fargo Bank in Denver where he served most recently as SBA area sales manager. He is a past board member of Colorado Lending Source, a SBA Certified Development Company, and the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries.

BankUnited is ranked as the 14th largest SBA 7(a) lender in the U.S. by lending volume, according to Small Business Administration data for its fiscal year which ended on September 30, 2015.
