CAT November Worldwide Retail Machine Sales Down 17% Year/Year



Caterpillar reported its worldwide retail sales of machines for the three-month rolling period ended in November 2016 were down 17% compared to the same period in the prior year. In North America, retail sales of machines were down 19% for the three-month period ended in November 2016 compared to the same period in 2015. Asia/Pacific retail machine sales were up 11% for the three month period compared to the same period in 2015.

October worldwide machinery sales were down 12% year/year and September sales were down 18% year-over-year.

Retail sales of mining equipment worldwide were down 24% for the three-month period ended in November 2016 compared to the same November period in 2015. North American retail sales of mining equipment were down 28% for the November period compared to last year which continued the retail mining equipment slide of October and September which showed declines of 24% and 37%, respectively earlier this year compared to 2015.
