DLL Receives LEED Gold Certification for U.S. Headquarters

De Lage Landen said it received LEED Existing Building Operation and Maintenance (EBOM) Gold Certification for its U.S. headquarters in Wayne, PA. This important recognition affirms the company’s commitment to providing sustainable solutions to its partners and incorporating responsible practices into business operations.

“We are extremely proud to receive this prestigious rating,” said Jeff Berg, U.S. country manager. “This milestone for us locally is yet another step in our journey to reach De Lage Landen’s global sustainability goal—reducing our carbon footprint by 20%.”

LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The program was established in 1993 by the United States Green Building Council and is comprised of more than 18,000 member companies and organizations representing the entire building industry.

The LEED project team (consisting of Mike Parker, vice president facilities, Nick Romani, facilities manager, and Sally Kimmich, LEED project coordinator) along with Re:Vision Architecture collaborated closely with De Lage Landen’s vendors to create plans and policies that would meet and uphold all LEED requirements and drive the company closer to its sustainability goals.

“It is very rewarding to see the dedication of the project team in making this goal a reality,” said Parker. “Their efforts to improving the building’s environmental focus has led to the installation of energy efficient systems that are reducing costs and contributing to improved efficiencies for the site overall.”

The Wayne building that employs nearly 1,000 members also received the ENERGY STAR award given by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Buildings that earn EPA’s ENERGY STAR use 35% less energy and generate 35% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings.

Additional recognition for the company’s efforts to embed sustainability into its core business practices came from Leasing Life, which has named De Lage Landen Green Finance Provider of the Year (previously Green Lessor of the Year) for three years in a row.

De Lage Landen said it considers sustainability essential to long-term success and LEED-EB Gold Certification is an excellent example of this corporate vision.
