First Citizens Middle Market Banking Names Tollenaer Market Leader for Atlanta



First Citizens Bank’s middle-market banking business named Matthew Tollenaer managing director and market leader dedicated to originating and cultivating business in Atlanta and the surrounding region.

Tollenaer will be responsible for acquiring and managing a portfolio of middle-market banking relationships and delivering commercial banking products and services. He will serve as the primary relationship management contact and partner with various sales associates to build and manage full banking relationships. Based in Atlanta, he will report to Brendan Chambers, who leads First Citizens Middle Market Banking.

“Matthew has a strong track record of generating new client relationships and managing commercial banking portfolios,” Chambers said. “We are excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to seeing the benefit his leadership and expertise will have as we grow our business in the Southeast.”

Prior to joining First Citizens, Matthew served as senior relationship manager for corporate banking at PNC Bank, where he managed a portfolio of corporate banking relationships with public and private companies headquartered in Georgia. Prior to that, he served as relationship manager for commercial banking at PNC Bank, where he drove new business development in the Georgia market. Earlier in his career, he held several roles at Bank of America in global commercial banking.
