GE, Alstom Win $5.6MM Contracts from India’s State-Owned Railway



According to Bloomberg, GE and Alstom secured contracts worth $5.6 billion to build trains for India’s state-owned railway.

As Bloomberg noted, GE will produce diesel engines in a deal worth $2.6 billion, while Alstom’s contract is worth $3 billion and is for electric engines.

The goal of the contracts is for production of 1,000 trains over the next 11 years, Bloomberg said.
