GSG Financial Expands Leadership Training Program

GSG Financial announced it expanded its Leadership Training Program and is now accepting applications for the third annual class.

The GSG Leadership Training Program was established in 2013 to encourage young talent to pursue a career in equipment finance and to educate employees new to the industry.

“No one grows up saying they want to be an equipment finance professional, but with a strong corporate culture dedicated to teamwork and personal development, we’ve been able to find some great talent that has made a terrific contribution to our business,” said Andrew A. Bender, chief executive officer.

The core tenant of the Leadership Training Program is to find smart, hardworking individuals and provide them with the training and support to flourish, GSG said. Candidates work through the industry’s key business segments gaining hands-on experience. Rotations typically include documentation, credit analysis, sales and marketing, and asset management. Candidates learn the fundamentals of transaction life cycles, legal regulations, pricing, financial analysis, and customer outreach. Ultimately, successful candidates are matched with one of GSG’s core functional groups to foster their skills and interests.

“The Program has proven to identify, develop and retain great team members,” said Bender. “All of our participants are still with the firm and contributing at a high level. We’re thrilled that the alumni of the Leadership Training Program are now helping improve the curriculum for future stars.”

GSG Financial is a New York City-based independent equipment lessor and financial solutions provider.
