John Deere Financial to Launch Leasing Company in Russia



Deere & Co. said its John Deere Financial Services will establish a leasing company in Russia to bolster retail financing for its farm implement and construction equipment customers in the country .

James A. Israel, president of John Deere Financial, said: “By establishing a leasing entity in Russia, John Deere will be able to provide retail financing solutions to our customers. Offering financing is an important factor in our service to customers in the agricultural, construction land forestry industries.”

The farm machinery maker made the announcement in Moscow, where it also said it would double the size of the planned expansion of its Domodedovo plant near Moscow. Deere said the plans will allow it to manufacturer new products in that country, including log forwarders use in forestry operations.

The announcement was part of a visit by a U.S. Chamber of Commerce delegation that included Deere Chairman Samuel Allen and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.
