MV Sales and Leasing (MVSL), a subsidiary of MV Transportation, announced it has signed a definitive agreement for MVSL to acquire specific assets of BusWest, a Carson, CA-based passenger transportation equipment dealer, from LA Freightliner. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MVSL said BusWest will be the preferred supplier of buses for MV Transportation and will continue to be a local provider of buses and bus related services with several locations throughout California, Nevada, Hawaii, Arizona and New Mexico.

The acquisition is expected to be completed within the next few months and includes equipment/inventories, employees and parts/service operations.

Fairfield, CA-based MV Transportation is the largest private provider of paratransit services and the largest privately-owned transportation contracting firm in the U.S. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, MVSL is the exclusive distributor of the Vehicle Production Group’s MV-1 to the municipal paratransit market in the United States.

BusWest has five bus service facilities in California, Nevada and Hawaii offering complete warranty services, parts, and technical support for school buses, transit buses, shuttle buses, paratransit buses, tour coaches and other specialty vehicles.
