Online Rental Network Delivers First Construction Equipment to Mars

BigRentz, an online construction equipment rental network, confirmed the first successful delivery of construction equipment to Mars, part of NASA’s colonization project. Included in the equipment delivered were two foldable rough terrain scissor lifts and a boom lift.

BigRentz CEO Dallas Imbimbo said that the full lineup of equipment will be delivered over the course of three trips.

The Irvine-based technology company partnered with NASA-sponsored Commercial Orbital Transportation Services and SpaceX to make the equipment rental possible.

After years of design and planning, the Mars colonization project is underway ahead of schedule. In NASA’s three-step plan to bring humans to Mars released in October of 2015, the organization outlined the details of the colonization project expected to be completed in 2030.

“We are ecstatic to be part of this pioneering moment in history,” said Imbimbo.
