Peapack-Gladstone Financial and Peapack-Gladstone Bank appointed Brian J. Scherman senior vice president and director of residential and consumer lending. Scherman will be responsible for both residential and consumer lending as well as the management of the loan origination team and new business development and underwriting.

With more than 30 years of experience, Scherman most recently served as senior director at First Republic Bank, where he contributed toward the growth of personal and business lending through the launch of new initiatives, strategies and technical plan execution to enhance revenue through new products and service expansion. His strategies proved instrumental in securing sales growth, building a pipeline and penetrating the market.

Prior to First Republic, Scherman served as vice president and Citigold relationship manager at Citibank and vice president and private banker at JPMorgan Chase in New York. Scherman’s additional roles in New York City included premier relationship manager at HSBC Bank USA, financial planner at MetLife Securities, and vice president and mortgage-backed securities trader at Commerzbank.
