PLM Fleet to Add QR Codes to Trailers to Enhance Service Request Process

PLM Fleet, a refrigerated trailer fleet management company, will begin adding QR codes on all its trailers, giving suppliers an easy access point for updates, while customers will gain the ability to request services, track repairs to completion and gain access to trailer licensing and registration.

A request from a customer or supplier can be initiated by scanning the QR code. No login information is needed. After scanning, customers will be promoted to enter only basic information on the services required and be brought to a website where they can upload photos and audio to the service request. The trailer’s location, asset details, mileage and engine hour readings are auto-filled. The QR code immediately populates a PLM work order upon scanning so a PLM maintenance professional can assign the work. Status updates are instantly available on MyPLM, the company’s online customer platform, with visibility to all involved customer stakeholders.

“These QR codes streamline the repairs for our customers’ drivers and maintenance partners,” Keith Shipp, president and CEO of PLM Fleet, said. “PLM Fleet is committed to simplify[ing] interactions for our customers, and with these new QR codes, the process from repair request to billing is modernized.”

The QR code also allows customers to order their registrations on demand, replace license plates, view contract terms, find GPS tracking and temperature management data, view invoices and access rental reservations.
