RBS Citizens Business Capital announced the launch of its new Lender Finance Group and has named Wells Fargo veteran Steven Katz to lead the group as SVP and sales leader. Katz will be based in Stamford, CT.

RBS Citizens Business Capital’s Lender Finance Group will provide asset-based financing to specialty finance companies such as ABLs and factoring companies along with equipment finance and leasing companies.

Katz was most recently VP and senior underwriter of the Lender Finance Division at Wells Fargo Capital Finance, where he underwrote transactions for a variety of specialty commercial finance companies.

Previous to Wells Fargo Capital Finance, Katz was a managing director at Syncora Guarantee. He also held senior roles at Fitch Ratings and Bear Stearns, with a focus on consumer and commercial finance companies.
