Ritchie Bros. attracted more than 12,400 registered bidders for its latest used equipment and truck auction in Fort Worth, TX, generating more the $58 million in gross transaction value.
Approximately 93% of the items in the online auction, which was held from Dec. 7 to Dec. 9, was purchased by U.S. buyers, including 39% sold to buyers from Texas. The remaining 7% was purchased by international buyers from countries such as Germany, Peru and the United Arab Emirates. Leading up to the auction, online equipment views per lot were up 51% year over year.
“Used equipment and truck pricing is incredibly strong right now,” Neal Black, regional sales manager for Ritchie Bros., said. “Our Fort Worth auction last week continued the trend we are seeing across all our auctions and marketplaces right now, with used construction and transportation assets attracting unprecedented demand. Ritchie Bros. conducted five online auctions from its Fort Worth, TX, site in 2021, registering more than 65,000 bidders and selling more than 22,000 items for more than $315 million.
