Bloomberg reported that Canon will purchase Toshiba’s medical equipment arm for 665.5 billion yen ($5.9 billion).
Bloomberg noted that the agreement will be funded by existing cash and borrowings.
The sale comes at a time when Toshiba is attempting to raise money following a large accounting scandal, Bloomberg said.
