Volvo: Robust NA Truck Market Offsets Weakness in Europe, SA



Volvo Group reported total global truck deliveries in 2014 were 203,124 units, up 1.4% from 200,274 units in 2013. Volvo noted North America deliveries of 57,714 trucks were up 29% from 44,755 deliveries for the same period a year earlier.

2014 truck deliveries in Europe and South America of 72,458 and 23,741 units, respectively were down 12% (82,088) and 19% (29,137). Volvo truck deliveries in Asia of 32,399 were up 13% from 28,692 a year earlier.

Volvo brand truck deliveries in North America of 33,800 units in 2014 were up 30% from 26,066 deliveries in 2013. Mack brand truck deliveries in North America of 23,634 units in 2014 were also up 30% from 18,244 deliveries in 2013.

Commenting on the fourth quarter, Olof Persson, president and CEO of Volvo Group , noted “In North America we had good momentum for our Mack brand, with orders up more than 100%.”
