Sentencing for Five EFI Defendants Postponed

The Lancaster Intelligencer Journal reported that sentencing for five defendants in the Equipment Finance Inc. fraud case has been delayed from next week to September.

Federal prosecutor Judy G. Smith requested the postponement last week due to poor health of a family member, the article said.

U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond agreed with the request to delay the sentencing of former EFI executives Joseph Braas, Michael Schlager and Mary Stankiewicz, plus Alabama businessmen John Tomberlin and John Wiley Spann, the article noted.
