ACT Research: U.S. Trailer Orders, Production Up in March

Trailer net orders rose 26% month-over-month and 3.5% year-over-year according to the most recent State of the Industry: U.S. Trailers published by ACT Research.

“Large fleets continue to drive the market, and low cancellations show that orders are firm,” said Frank Maly, director–CV Transportation Analysis and Research at ACT. “Trailer production was up 4% year over year. The industry continues to see a rebound in factory inventory after a strong year-end drawdown, inventory was up 13% m/m and 8% y/y. Comments regarding some pressure at the dealer level continue to be heard.”

Maly added that normal seasonal patterns indicate some further inventory gains in March.
