Air Lease delivered its first Boeing 787 in Everett, WA on June 7, 2016. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 on long-term lease to Hainan Airlines, is the first of two new Boeing 787-9 deliveries from ALC’s order book with Boeing.

The second 787-9 is scheduled to deliver this fall. This event also marks the first GEnx-powered Boeing 787-9 to operate in China, as well as the first 787-9 aircraft in Hainan’s fleet.

“We are very pleased to deliver our first ever Boeing 787-9 to Hainan Airlines, who is also now the first airline in China to operate both the 787-8 and the 787-9.
