According to an article by Pat McGibbons, vice president of Strategic Analytics for the Association for Manufacturing Technology, electric cars are closer to being a significant percentage of the market while autonomous vehicles are a decade or two away.

Volvo plans to go all electric by 2019 and a resolution from the German Federal Council called for the ban of sales of internal combustion engines after 2030, McGibbons said.
