Bloomberg: Umpqua in Talks to Buy Sterling for $1.8B



Bloomberg reported that Umpqua Holdings is in talks to buy Sterling Financial, citing people with knowledge of the discussions.

The article noted that the deal may be valued at about $1.8 billion, according to one of the sources, although the talks may still collapse and there’s no guarantee a transaction will occur.
