Boeing Buying, Leasing 747s to Cargo Carriers to Save Iconic Aircraft

Bloomberg reported that Boeing Capital has provided financing valued at $1.26 billion to 747 customers that are now using the iconic aircraft as cargo carriers.

Bloomberg said 747-related loans and leases now account for about one-quarter of the portfolio managed by Boeing’s captive equipment finance and leasing affiliate.

Bloomberg noted that Boeing recently received an order from UPS that could serve as a bridge for the future of the 747.
