Boeing, Sberbank Form Alliance to Develop Aviation Financing



In a joint press release, Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank and Boeing announced an agreement to develop aviation financing and leasing services in Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Under the agreement, Sberbank and Boeing plan to implement projects to finance the acquisition and leasing of Boeing’s products and services by customers in Russia and other CIS-countries.

The agreement also envisages information exchange and training projects aimed at the development of aviation financing services in Sberbank Leasing, a unit of Sberbank.

The news release notes that under Boeing’s latest forecast, the demand for aircraft from airlines both from Russia and other countries of the CIS would amount to 960 units worth U.S. $90 billion until 2020.
