Capital One Expands Commercial, Specialty Finance Team



Capital One Bank announced the appointment of Laurel Varney as vice president, Commercial and Specialty Finance. Varney will primarily be responsible for managing client relationships with both existing and prospective customers throughout the Southwest, including Dallas and Houston.

“With more than 15 years of experience in the commercial finance industry, Laurel brings a deep knowledge of cash-flow and asset-based lending to our regional team,” said Mike Ehlert, senior vice president and regional manager, Capital One Bank. “Her expertise will be of great benefit to our team and we look forward to her future success in this role.”

Prior to joining Capital One Bank, Varney was an account manager at CLMG Corp/Beal Bank in Dallas. Throughout her banking career, Varney served as vice president in Wells Fargo’s Lender Finance division and spent over seven years at JPMorgan Chase, eventually being promoted to field vice president of the bank’s Asset-Based Lending division. Varney started her career at the Internal Revenue Service.
