Convoy Raises $16 Million Led by Greylock Partners

Convoy, an on-demand service for local and regional trucking, announced that it has secured $16 million in series A funding, led by Greylock Partners, and expanded service into Oregon.

Reid Hoffman and Simon Rothman from Greylock Partners and Code.org co-founder Hadi Partovi joined the board. Convoy will use the additional funding to accelerate development of its technology and expand its footprint into additional regions.

Reid Hoffman and Simon Rothman from Greylock Partners said, “Convoy serves a tremendous need for the trucking industry. In order to compete, shippers and carriers need the networks between them to be more efficient so they can operate faster and with greater flexibility. Convoy creates a connected system that massively increases efficiency, transparency, and scheduling, and this innovation is the future of logistics. ”

“We are transforming trucking and raising the expectations of shippers and carriers alike,” Convoy co-founder and CEO Dan Lewis said. “We couldn’t be happier to have Greylock’s involvement as we grow, and to welcome entrepreneurs like Hadi, Simon, and Reid to our board.”

Seattle-Tacoma-based Convoy makes it easy for shippers to connect with nearby trucking companies and book jobs instantly—saving time and simplifying the booking process. Convoy’s service allows companies to track their shipments in real time, increasing visibility for shippers and streamlining communication. Using Convoy’s platform, trusted carriers receive notifications of jobs on their phones, helping them expand their business with work that matches their equipment and location.
