Eqpme Chooses Great American Insurance to Offer Rental Equipment Protection

Eqpme, an online heavy equipment rental marketplace, launched an equipment damage protection program for equipment rental customers. Great American Spirit Insurance Company will underwrite the program in the United States and the Canadian branch of Great American Insurance Company will underwrite the program in Canada.

“One of the biggest bottlenecks in the equipment rental industry is making sure equipment is properly insured when out on rental,” Alex Mascarin, CEO of Eqpme, said. “By partnering with Great American Insurance Group, we have eliminated that bottleneck and our customers can have peace of mind knowing the equipment is protected by an A+ rated insurance carrier when using the Eqpme platform.”

The program will allow equipment owners to offer a loss damage waiver at checkout to Eqpme rental customers who want to meet the insurance requirements of their rental contracts. Great American Insurance Group will provide insurance that protects onwers for covered damage or loss of equipment. Claims can be reported directly to Great American Insurance Group by the owner or renter of the equipment via Eqpme’s marketplace.

“As a company focused on finding new ways to help our clients and their customers, we are delighted to work with Eqpme,” Bryan Inman, who works in business development for Great American’s specialty equipment division, said. “By embedding our proven insurance solutions and excellent claims service in their technology, we are helping to reduce the friction that the coverage requirement can cause, allowing for fast and easy equipment rentals on the Eqpme marketplace.”
