Former Goldman Sachs VP Joins Aviation Capital

Aviation Capital Group (ACG), the commercial aircraft leasing subsidiary of Pacific Life Insurance, announced that Tom Baker has joined ACG as senior vice president – Strategic Planning and Analytics. Baker will be responsible for transaction analytics, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations and strategic planning.

Baker joins ACG from Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking group, most recently as a vice president covering the Aviation & Transportation sectors. In this role, he advised clients on strategic priorities, capital structure optimization, equity and debt issuance, mergers, acquisitions and relationships with key sector investors. Prior to that, he was Goldman’s head of Asia (ex-Japan) Transportation group in Hong Kong, where he worked on debt and equity financings, including initial public offerings, in the aviation and transportation sectors. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Baker spent a number of years at Citigroup in investment banking and Morgan Stanley in equity research.

“Tom’s breadth of experience in aviation, leasing and investment banking is a key addition to ACG. We look forward to having Tom as a part of ACG’s leadership team,” said Khanh T. Tran, CEO of ACG.

ACG also announced that Mark Lang has joined ACG as vice president – Financial Planning & Analysis, reporting to Baker. Lang joins ACG from CoreLogic, a global data and analytics company in Irvine, CA, that successfully completed its initial public offering in June 2010.

Most recently Lang was the VP of Finance for the Technology & Corporate Shared Services division. Prior to that, he played a pivotal role in establishing CoreLogic’s core FP&A function as a public company. Prior to CoreLogic, Lang held expanded roles in Finance, Accounting and FP&A with GMAC Financial Services, Wells Fargo, SAP Software, Liberty Media and The Walt Disney Company.
