Fortune and Great Place to Work Name First American Equipment Finance a Best Small/Medium Workplace

Fortune and Great Place to Work named First American Equipment Finance one of the 2021 Best Small and Medium Workplaces (fewer than 1,000 full-time employees). This is First American’s sixth time being named to this list, with the company coming in 18th place this year.

The Best Small and Medium Workplaces award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 280,000 current employees. In the survey, 98% of First American’s employees said First American is a great place to work. This number was 39% higher than the average U.S. company.

Great Place to Work selected the list using analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they were a Great Place to Work-certified organization. Companies were also assessed on how well they created a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status or any aspect of who employees are or what their roles are.

“Over the past decade, my colleagues at First American have created an environment where high performers can truly flourish,” Alan Sikora, CEO of First American Equipment Finance, said. “To sustain our strong culture, colleagues make choices each day to be inclusive, collaborative and genuine. I am incredibly proud of the successful business they continue to build.”

First American’s new business volume grew from $414 million in 2015 to $1.48 billion in 2020. During this time, the company created more than 100 new positions at its Rochester, NY, headquarters

Additionally, Fortune and Great Place to Work ranked First American as a Best Workplace for Millennials, a Best Workplace in New York, a Best Workplace in Financial Services and Insurance, Best for Women, Best for Giving Back and Best for Grads. Energage named First American the No. 2 Top Workplace in the USA with between 150 to 499 full-time employees and the No. 1 Top Workplace in Rochester, NY, with between 125 and 399 full-time employees earlier this year.
