Fortune and Great Place to Work named First American Equipment Finance one of the 2021 Best Small and Medium Workplaces (fewer than 1,000 full-time employees). This is First American’s sixth time being named to this list, with the company coming in 18^th place this year.

The Best Small and Medium Workplaces award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 280,000 current employees. In the survey, 98% of First American’s employees said First American is a great place to work. This number was 39% higher than the average U.S. company.

Great Place to Work selected the list using analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they were a Great Place to Work-certified organization. Companies were also assessed on how well they created a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status or any aspect of who employees are or what their roles are.

First American’s new business volume grew from $414 million in 2015 to $1.48 billion in 2020. During this time, the company created more than 100 new positions at its Rochester, NY, headquarters
