Fortune Names First American One of 50 Best Workplaces for Giving Back

Fortune Magazine and consulting firm Great Place to Work named First American Equipment Finance No. 26 among the country’s 50 Best Workplaces for Giving Back.

Great Place to Work analyzed surveys from nearly 600 companies to rank those that best create a sense of purpose and meaning among their employees through involvement in the community. Not only do these workplaces stand out for their generosity, but their team members also express a great deal of pride in what their organizations accomplish.

“I am honored to work with such generous and thoughtful colleagues,” said Alan Sikora, CEO of First American. “Each charitable initiative at First American began with a passionate colleague committed to giving back to others. Achieving charitable goals is encouraged and celebrated with the full support of the company. Involvement and outreach give our daily work a deeper purpose and provides all of us with a richer connection to the business and the community.”

The Best Workplaces for Giving Back took into consideration feedback from about 240,000 employees in a diverse range of industries, as well as their companies’ volunteer programs and charitable giving relative to revenue.

“The Best Workplaces for Giving Back demonstrate more than just a commitment to charity,” said Kim Peters, executive vice president at Great Place to Work. “These organizations have earned employees’ admiration by involving staffers in their community service efforts and contributing resources in ways that genuinely reflect their unique cultures.”

First American was selected based on responses to the Trust Index, Great Place to Work’s employee assessment survey. Employees rated their sense that they make a difference in their jobs, the meaningfulness of their work and the impact they feel their organizations make in the community. The list also took into account company programs and an analysis of anonymous employee comments about their workplaces.

First American also ranked as a best workplace for both millennials and among financial services companies by Great Place to Work and Fortune.
