The Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PA Bankers) honored four professionals with the Women in Banking Recognition of Excellence Program awards at the sixth annual Women in Banking Conference at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center.
The conference attracted more than 350 banking and financial services professionals.
“The PA Bankers’ Women in Banking initiative is an important testament to the power and commitment to excellence of women in the banking industry and provides invaluable opportunities for networking and professional development,” said Angie Sargent, senior executive vice president and chief information officer at Fulton Financial and the association’s Women in Banking Advisory Committee chair. “The women we recognize today are leaders who invigorate their communities through mentoring and volunteering, and we are proud that each of them promotes and inspires other women to excel in the workplace.”
Conference attendees represented a diverse cross-section of roles within banks and financial services firms of all sizes. Led by the Women in Banking Advisory Committee, they form the association’s Women in Banking Network and conduct regional activities, such as financial literacy programs with the Girl Scouts, in addition to attending the conference each year.
The association received 33 nominations for its Women in Banking Recognition of Excellence program. The categories and winners include:
“Everyone involved in this initiative helps build the female banking leaders of the future and empowers us to achieve our industry’s mission of inclusiveness and opportunity for all,” said Sargent.
