Hogan Lovells Expands Energy Transition Capabilities with Addition of Bonsignore

Michael Bonsignore joined Hogan Lovells’ corporate and finance practice group in Washington, D.C., as a partner in the firm’s infrastructure, energy, resources and projects (IERP) practice area. He joined from Clifford Chance.

“We are delighted that Mike has decided to join us,” James Doyle, leader of Hogan Lovells’ global corporate and finance practice group, said. “He has deep experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors with an emphasis on renewables and energy transition. These areas are growing and evolving at an extraordinary pace and are strategic priorities for the firm and many of our clients. Mike is a great addition to our global energy transactions team, building on other recent appointments in London, Germany and Singapore.”

“We are seeing increased demand across all regions for an expanded energy offering, with clean energy and energy transition work at the heart of that growth,” Philip Robb, global practice lead for Hogan Lovells’ IERP practice area, said. “Mike’s experience in areas such as solar, wind, hydrogen and carbon capture, alongside his broader experience across energy and infrastructure, will be highly valuable to our global range of clients. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to our growing team.”

Bonsignore’s experience covers a range of corporate, M&A and project development work, principally in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He has placed clean energy, energy transition and infrastructure work at the heart of his practice, representing a mix of U.S. and international sponsors, investors, financing parties and developers.

“Mike’s arrival is a significant boost for the office as we reinforce and continue to expand our energy transactional capabilities,” Ajay Kuntamukkala, office managing partner of Hogan Lovells’ Washington, D.C., office, said. “His experience across renewables and other aspects of energy transition will help keep us at the forefront of the market, which is priority for us and many of our clients.”

“I am delighted to be joining Hogan Lovells,” Bonsignore said. “The firm’s energy and infrastructure offering is unique given the strength of its U.S. practice and its incredible global platform. I’m looking forward to working with the team in the U.S. and internationally across the exciting markets in which we operate.”
