Island Air will close operations and will cease flying on Friday, November 10, 2017. According to a report from KITV, the airline was forced to cease operations after its received lease termination notices from its lessors.
Island Air employed about 400 staff members and was in business for some 37 years before it filed for bankruptcy protection on October 16, 2017 after its aircraft leasing company attempted to repossess the company’s aircraft for nonpayment, according to the report from KITV.
