Latest U.S. Baker Hughes Rig Count Up 60% Year/Year



According to the latest Baker Hughes rig count report, as of November 10, 2017, the U.S. had a rig count of 907, which was up nine from 898 the previous week and up 339, or 60%, from 568 on the same date one year-ago.

The Canadian rig count was 203, up from 214 one week earlier and up 27 from the same date one year-ago.

International rig count of 951 on November 10, 2017 was up from 931 one week earlier and up 31, or 3.4%, from the same date one year-ago.

Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of U.S. and Canadian drilling activity. Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975. The North American rig count is released weekly at noon central time on the last day of the work week. The international rig count is released on the fifth working day of each month.
