Lone Rock Resources CEO Joins Board of Sasser Family Holdings

Toby Luther, the president and CEO of Lone Rock Resources, joined the board of directors of Sasser Family Holdings as an independent director. Sasser is the parent company of such businesses as Chicago Freight Leasing and Union Leasing.

“Our board is comprised of both family and non-family members. We believe good governance of Sasser is enhanced by outside perspectives that bring unique, valuable insight to guide our corporate direction,” said Fred R. Sasser, chairman of the board at Sasser. “Sasser Family Holdings and Lone Rock Resources are similar in that they share a deep history as family businesses founded on strong values and a focus on stewardship. Toby brings a fount of management experience for family businesses, including how to incorporate non-family senior leadership into a values-focused family operation. He will be a welcome addition to our board.”

Luther is the first non-family CEO to oversee closely-held Lone Rock Resources. The Roseburg, OR-based timber company manages more than 128,000 acres of forest with a dedication to sustainable forestry and social responsibility. He joined the company in 2001, and was named CEO in 2009 after holding positions as the company’s chief operating officer, vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
