Monitor appointed Rita E. Garwood as editor in chief, responsible for the publication’s print, digital, e-news and online properties, effective immediately. She will report directly to Lisa Rafter, publisher of the Monitor.

Commenting on Garwood’s appointment, Rafter said, “We are delighted to announce this exciting news. Rita has been in the equipment finance industry for almost a decade and has a deep understanding of our brand and the valuable content that we provide to the industry, including the Monitor 100 and other annual rankings. She will be an invaluable asset to our team as we expand our new conference series and embark on creating a new ranking, the Monitor 101.”

Garwood previously served as managing editor of Monitor and ABF Journal. Her previous experience includes a senior writer role on the marketing team of Temenos, a global banking software provider. Garwood has owned and operated a freelance writing company, Garwood Writing & Editing, since 2006. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she majored in English & professional writing. She was the recipient of a Dean’s Scholarship (Drexel University) and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Monitor is a publication of Bryn Mawr, PA-based RAM Group, a multimedia company that owns and operates several brand name publications serving the equipment leasing and finance asset-based, specialty finance industries nationwide. The brand names include Monitor, Monitor 100, MonitorDaily, ABF Journal and Molloy Associates, an executive search firm affiliate of RAM Group.
