October Total Commercial Bankruptcy Filings Down 16% Y/Y

Total commercial filings for October 2012 were 4,780, representing a 16% decrease from the 5,719 filings during the same period in 2011. The October commercial Chapter 11 filing total of 704 represented a 23% decrease from October 2011’s total of 913, according to the American Bankruptcy Institute and Epiq Systems.
