Redefining the Road Chooses U.S. Xpress HR SVP as a Top Woman to Watch

U.S. Xpress Enterprises’ Senior Vice President of Human Resources Amanda Thompson was named a 2019 Top Woman to Watch in Transportation by the Women in Trucking Association.

Thompson was nominated by her peers and chosen by the editorial staff of Women in Trucking’s Redefining the Road magazine based upon career and personal life accomplishments.

“Amanda is one of the most influential people at U.S. Xpress,” said Eric Fuller, U.S. Xpress president and CEO. “It is easy to see why she was selected as a top woman to watch in the industry. From her commitment to improve the quality of life for our professional drivers with the ‘Full Ride’ initiative (tuition-free college education), to spearheading our recently launched state-of-the-art professional driver development program, Amanda is leading positive change at U.S. Xpress and in the industry.”

Thompson has more than two decades of experience in human resources. Since joining U.S. Xpress in 2004, she has organized countless initiatives to deliver a driver-first mentality within the company.

“What a great honor it is to be selected among these amazing women,” commented Thompson. “All these women are doing great things to help advance the transportation industry, and I am humbled to be included in such an accomplished group of my peers.”

Thompson’s industry achievements are featured in the 2019 edition of Redefining the Road.

Founded in 1985, U.S. Xpress Enterprises is the nation’s fifth largest asset-based truckload carrier by revenue. It provided services primarily throughout the United States, offering customers a broad portfolio of services through its own truckload fleet and third-party carriers through its non-asset-based truck brokerage network.
