VC Funds Raised $55.5B — Most Since Dot-Com Era



Bloomberg reported that venture capital funds raised $55.5 billion from investors in 2018, the most since the dot-com era, according to a report from the National Venture Capital Association and PitchBook.

Bloomberg noted that the boom is coinciding with uncertainty in the public markets as economists forecast a looming recession and investors see private companies as a higher yielding vehicle.
