Waypoint Leasing closed lease agreements for two Leonardo AW139 helicopters with Heliconia Group and HNZ Group. Both of the helicopters were previously operated by CHC.
The Heliconia helicopter will go on lease to support oil and gas operations in North Africa.
“We are pleased to partner with Waypoint on this transaction, which allows us to add another AW139 to our existing fleet in North Africa in a cost-effective and seamless manner,” said Daniel Sigaud, president and CEO of Heliconia, which is a helicopter operator in North and Sub Saharan Africa. “Waypoint clearly appreciates and caters to the needs of the operator, and we hope to collaborate with them further as we continue to expand our operations and fleet going forward.”
“We are excited to be working with HNZ on this transaction and are confident this is the beginning of a long and productive partnership,” said Ed Washecka, CEO of Waypoint. “This transaction marks the second AW139 aircraft we have taken back from CHC and placed with another customer, representing significant demand for the aircraft and healthy offshore activity in the region. Waypoint is well-positioned to meet this demand with our ongoing remarketing efforts of the AW139 and significant presence in the Asia Pacific region from our office in Singapore.”
The HNZ helicopter will go on long-term lease in support of oil and gas operations in Asia.
“We are pleased to be working with Waypoint’s team and recognize the value they bring to the fleet planning process,” said Don Wall, president and CEO of HNZ, which is an international provider of helicopter transportation and related support services. “Waypoint possesses the market expertise, flexibility and tailored financing solutions that will allow us to focus on our growth targets and greatly enhance our operational capabilities.”
“We are excited to place an AW139 with Heliconia, marking our first transaction with the operator, and continue to be encouraged by the global market support for this versatile aircraft,” Washecka said. “We expect our comprehensive remarketing efforts and improved market conditions will lead to further transactions as demand for the aircraft remains robust. We look forward to building on our new relationship with Heliconia and providing mission critical helicopters, such as the AW139, to operators in need.”
