Wintrust Commercial Finance Promotes DeRusha and Horner to EVP Positions

Wintrust Commercial Finance promoted Brian DeRusha from senior vice president to executive vice president and director of asset management and Ron Horner from senior vice president to executive vice president and general counsel. In their new executive roles, both DeRusha and Horner will be responsible for assisting in the growth of Wintrust Asset Finance’s more than $3 billion portfolio.

DeRusha has been with Wintrust since May 2017. Prior to joining the company, he spent 13 years at AIG Commercial Equipment Finance and four years at Transamerica Commercial Finance, where he met Kirk Phillips, the current president and CEO of Wintrust Commercial Finance. DeRusha has xperience in equipment-based structured financing deals and acquisitions.

With more than 36 years of broad-based commercial finance, corporate finance and corporate experience, Horner has been an integral part of Wintrust Commercial Finance since day one. Before joining the company, Horner worked at AIG Commercial Equipment Finance with both Phillips and DeRusha.

“I want to congratulate Brian and Ron for their well-deserved promotion to the EVP level within Wintrust Commercial Finance,” Phillips said. “Both have made a tremendous impact as we have grown WCF over the past nine years. In addition to WCF, they also provide leadership and support for our affiliated divisions, Wintrust Equipment Finance and Wintrust Specialty Finance. I will continue to look to them to provide guidance as we move the Wintrust equipment finance and leasing platforms forward.”
