WOW Air Ceases Operations Leaving Passengers Stranded

Discount Icelandic airline WOW Air announced the immediate termination of all operations on its website, leaving at least a thousand passengers in limbo and causing minor chaos at several airports as customers struggled to find last-minute flights and accommodations.

According to CNN, the airline had attempted to negotiate new credit terms until the very last minute, but with no guarantee of investment, did not have enough financial support to continue operating.

CNN reported this caused substantial criticism from stranded passengers, who felt blind-sided by the news and had no guarantee of compensation or refund for their tickets.
