According to a Wall Street Journal report, citing data from Boeing, private equity funds have provided $207 billion of commercial airliner financing since 2009 when about $900 billion was spent on new jetliners.
The Journal noted several examples including Castlelake which recently financed a portfolio of 36 aircraft by completing a $911.3 million securitization.
