Aircraft Lessor AWAS Will Be Auctioned Off, Could Fetch $7B

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Reuters reported that aircraft lessor AWAS has been put up for sale by its private equity owner.

Reuters said that the Dublin-based company will be sold in an auction and could fetch $7 billion, including debt.

Goldman Sachs is assisting Terra Firma to conduct the auction, Reuters said, also speculating that potential suitors include the aircraft leasing unit of China’s Ping An Insurance Group and a number of other Chinese entities.

In October, the Wall Street Journal reported that Terra Firma was looking to sell AWAS.
