Dext Capital

Dext Capital’s leadership approach is deeply rooted in its five core values: collaboration, inclusiveness, purpose, opportunities and humility. This multifaceted approach acknowledges the unique strengths and contributions of each individual, fostering an environment where collaboration thrives.

Driving Innovation Through Collaboration
Collaboration is at the forefront of innovation, encouraging team members to work together, combining their diverse skills and perspectives. This synergy not only enhances productivity, but also fosters a sense of belonging and mutual respect. In an environment where everyone’s ideas are valued, innovation is a natural outcome.

Embracing Diversity with Inclusiveness
Inclusiveness is key in recognizing the uniqueness of each individual. “Dexters” (Dext employees) understand that a diverse workforce brings a plethora of ideas, experiences and perspectives. By embracing these differences, the company creates a rich tapestry of talent, which is essential in navigating the complexities of today’s business world.

Purpose-Driven Decision Making
Purpose drives the company’s actions, ensuring that every decision and strategy is intentional and aligns with its core mission and values. This clear sense of direction and transparency around both challenges and opportunities rallies the team around common goals, ensuring everyone is moving in unison towards the same objectives.

Meritocratic Opportunities for All
Opportunities are provided to all, reflecting a meritocratic approach where advancement is based on skill, effort and achievements. This policy not only motivates Dexters to give their best, but also ensures that talent and hard work are rightly rewarded.

Leadership with Humility
Lastly, humility in leadership is pivotal. Dext Capital’s leaders are not afraid to acknowledge mistakes and take corrective actions. This transparency and willingness to learn from errors cultivates an environment of trust and open communication. It also sets a powerful example for all team members, encouraging them to approach challenges with an open mind and a willingness to adapt.

Dext’s leadership approach, underpinned by these five core values, creates a dynamic and supportive environment. It’s a place where uniqueness is celebrated, opportunities are abundant, and Dexters are encouraged to contribute to their fullest potential. This holistic approach not only drives Dext’s success but also ensures a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

CEO Kyin Lok looks for genuine, true-to-themselves people to lead the company. He believes that authenticity is the key to building trust and “keeping things real” with the team. “I’m fortunate to be surrounded by a strong Dext leadership team and believe good leaders come in all forms,” Lok says.

One of these characteristics is competency, which Lok views as non-negotiable. “But it’s not just about being smart; being humble and down-to-earth makes a leader someone you can actually relate to. They should be quick on their feet, ready to adapt and always keen to learn something new from their industry peers and their fellow Dexters.”

For Lok, it comes down to teamwork. To him, a good Dext Capital leader should be all about collaboration and transparent communication. He encourages his leadership team to focus on what customers need and be prepared to jump into action when needed. “Leaders at Dext are good people with strong values who work hard to make a difference,” Lok says.

Lok has boosted his own leadership skills throughout the years and continues to do so today. “I’m always on the lookout for people who are nailing it in the leadership department. I pick up on their best traits and try to weave them into my own approach,” Lok says. “I also chat with my team a lot. It’s important for me to understand what matters to them and how I can support them, all while making sure we’re creating value for everyone involved, including the company.” •
